Finding Cheap Deals to Lanzarote
Despite the fact that the Canary Island of Lanzarote is located four hours flight from the UK it still offers better value travel and accommodation deals than many other destinations much closer to home. Along with far better weather all year round.

Lanzarote is one of seven Canary Islands which all enjoy a semi tropical climate thanks to their close proximity to the West African coast. They are all owned by Spain and have become very popular with holidaymakers, especially from the UK. With Lanzarote the third most visited of the islands after Tenerife and Gran Canaria.

Many visitors to the island arrive on flights to Lanzarote from the UK, with returns available from as little as €100. Germany and Eire also send a large quantity of tourists to Lanzarote every year. And most of these visitors find accommodation in one of the islands three tourist resorts. Which is where the largest array of Lanzarote Holiday Villas , apartments and hotels are located.

Much of this accommodation will have been booked direct online via the internet. Which has become a growing source of bookings for the owners of holiday property on the island. A dramatic sea change over the last decade – with travel agents now rendered largely useless.

Apartment holidays offer the cheapest deals for those on a budget. There are hundreds of good value complexes in the largest resort of Puerto del Carmen. Many of which offer a weeks stay from as little as €180. Which is the price per room and not per person. Playa Blanca Villas also offer good value for money as they are cheaper to rent than comparable properties in Puerto del Carmen. And all boast plenty of luxury extras such as private pools and Jacuzzis.

Playa Blanca is located in the south of the island and is growing rapidly as a resort, having evolved from its former incarnations as a little fishing village during the 1990´s. And now boasts a luxury marina as well as a delightful seafront promenade.

The north of the island is much less developed than the south and this is the region visitors should head for if they want to connect with the more authentic face of Lanzarote. It´s also much greener, especially in and around the Valley of 1000 Palms. Where locals continue to follow a tradition of planting a palm for every new born baby in the village.

Navarra, the first of the Way
When we say that can not be understood without Navarra Camino de Santiago is to tell the truth. The traces of this route are numerous along the entire length of Navarra land and its cultural influence is more than evident.

While there are two major routes of the Jacobean route for the ancient kingdom of Navarre, we will focus today on the best known of these, called Camino Francés that enters through the Pyrenees towards Santiago de Compostela and see some of the points main value of this trip.

Upon entering we find ourselves in Navarra Roncesvalles with its Collegiate, a monument of French Gothic set in a landscape truly overwhelming in its beauty and reference both for pilgrims and travelers eager for simple serene beauty.

If the traveler or the traveler have the time to deviate somewhat from the road is highly recommended to visit the jungle Irati one of the largest and best preserved forests of beech and spruce in Europe.

Pamplona, proud and historic city deserves an article by itself so we stress that this is a beautiful city full of monuments and historic buildings and oxygenated by large green areas inside the park as Taconera or Citadel fortress, all without forgetting the excellent character of the locals or the reminiscences of the known world of the bulls festival of San Fermin.

The next major milestone of the road we find it in Puente La Reina, with its beautiful Romanesque bridge built to facilitate the passage of pilgrims.

The town of Estella is undoubtedly one of the jewels of the Camino de Santiago in general and its passage through Navarre in particular, with a good number of Romanesque gems among which the palace of the Kings or the medieval churches of San Pedro De la Rua.

Estella Nearby, at the foot of the mountain is Montejurra Irache Monastery near where we find the Fountain of two pipes which do well water and wine respectively.

Before leaving Navarra even you can enjoy the architectural wonders of the church of Santa Maria de los Arcos in the town that bears his name or the Holy Sepulchre church in the town of Torres del Rio, a rare display of medieval art to finish in Viana in the church of Santa Maria where the remains of Cesare Borgia.
